Fluent Tibetan, Audio Cassette Language Course.  Includes 18 audio cassette tapes ( = 26 hours), and  four textbooks containing 1,014 pages.  This comprehensive audio-cassette and book course is a proficiency-oriented learning system, including beginning and intermediate levels, and has been developed by language experts and indigenous speakers, both male and female.
   The course consists of three texts in fifteen units and 26 recorded hours on tape.  All recordings are by indigenous Tibetan speakers.  The glossary is both Tibetan-English, and English-Tibetan.

The first three units are devoted to recognition and pronunciation of the Tibetan alphabet and it's combinations in syllables and words.  Beginning with unit four, vocabulary and grammatical patterns are introduced in the form of situational dialogues.  Each dialogue is followed by extensive drills which repeat the vocabulary and grammatical patterns in different contexts.  In this way the student learns not merely to mimic the phrase but to use the language creatively.
