Mount Nebo is one of the most holy places in Jordan and according to legend it was from there that Moses first saw the Promised Land. At the foot of the mountain is the spectacular Jordan Valley and when the weather is fine it is possible to see as far as Jerusalem and Jericho. A visit to Petra is the highlight of any journey through Jordan. The entrance to the legendary capital of the Nabatean realm is by way of the Siq, the dried out river bed of the Musa. The Wadi Rum is not only the largest desert in Jordan, its landscape has also played an important role in the country's cultural history.
