    Argentina - Travel Video.
DVD. 7 Days. 52 Minutes. Argentina is the second largest country in South America and a captivating land of tango, adventure and breathtaking nature. Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina and the most European city in South America with buildings that are reminiscent of bygone times. The mighty Plaza De Mayo is the historic heart of the city, along with the presidential palace, the Casa Rosada and the Catedral Metropolitana. Today the tango is performed in each corner of the city and in the nineteenth century poor immigrants from Italy and Spain settled in Buenos Aires. This explains the fiery temperament and deep melancholy that is expressed by the dances and is evident with each flick of the leg. In what was once the red light district with its whore houses of colourful corrugated iron taken from numerous ship wrecks, the tango was born. We visit an estanzia, a feudal residence of the beef barons who once settled on the endless plains of the pampas and who built their farmhouses according to the rustic designs of the nobility. From Salta Station we begin a fascinating train journey on the Tren A Las Nubes, the "train into the clouds",.which will climb to more than three thousand metres above sea level along one of the highest railroads in the world. The Los Glaciares National Park is a mixture of lakes, glaciers, mountains and untouched wilderness yet despite the harsh climate the local vegetation captivates due to its diversity. Our journey comes to an end. From north to south, through cities and pampas to glaciers and mountains, Argentina is a dream destination come true!

    Los Glaciares Travel Video.
DVD. Nature Parks Polished rock and strangely formed ice monuments dominate this extraordinary habitat in southern Argentina, in the heart of Patagonia. The Los Glaciares National Park captivates with its untouched wilderness and surreal scenery. The starting point of the journey through one of the most fascinating landscapes on Earth is the capital of the Lago Argentino Departament, El Calafate. Outside the town are vast, lush meadows that are frequently swept by the strong winds of the region, yet despite the harsh climate, the local vegetation is surprisingly varied. The Lago Argentino, that measures around 1,500 square kilometres, is located in the Los Glaciares National Park. Several mountain rivers, as well as the ice of various glaciers, flow into the lake. The Upsala Glacier, on the northwest tip of the lake, is the biggest of its kind in South America and its dimensions are unique, its glacial tongue stretching 50 kilometres into the lake. For visitors to the Viedma Glacier, the most thrilling and spectacular leg of the adventure lies ahead, a walk into its ice fields. Among the most beautiful and unforgettable impressions on the eternal ice of the Viedma are the many deep caves that have been formed according to various prevailing conditions. Another visual highlight of this amazing tour into the fairy-tale world of the Viedma Glacier, is the play of color on the ice. In addition to the color of the ice, it is also the fantastic shapes of the frozen water that makes the journey to the Viedma Glacier so outstanding. The Los Glaciares National Park is a scene of grandiose natural spectacles, a haven for those who seek tranquility and a dream world of ice and rock. This remote region in the south of Argentina has most certainly retained its natural beauty right up to the present day.

    Patagonia - Travel Video.
DVD. 7 Days. 52 Minutes. Patagonia is the most southerly region in Argentina and the second largest state in South America. A dream destination of strong winds, endless plains, glacial landscapes and total isolation at the end of the world. In the Tierra Del Fuego region, Ushuaia is known as the Gateway to Antarctica and is a small town that has experienced a great boom in recent years. It is difficult to believe that not long ago nothing but the wooden huts of Anglican missionaries stood here, those who introduced Christianity to the Fireland Indians in 1869. The Tierra Del Fuego National Park was founded in 1960 and is very accessible. The Rio Pipo snakes through the varied landscape and more than sixty thousand hectares cover the border with Chile surrounded by snow covered mountains that survey the land below. Only a handful of people are allowed to visit Penguin Island, closely supervised by a guide and restricted to well-defined pathways. It is fascinating to watch the Magellan Penguins, which actually bray like donkeys, as they waddle along in true penguin-like comical fashion. From the Lago Nordenskj?ld there is a wonderful view of the park's natural landmark, the two thousand five hundred metre high Torres Del Paine. The remains of a dead guanako indicate that the park is also the habitat of a legendary yet dreaded predator, the puma. Patagonia is an ancient rock and savannah landscape that has been created out of fire, water, wind and ice and is one of the oldest landscapes on Planet Earth. Constantly changing but also frozen in the mists of time itself!

Tren A La Nubes - Travel Video.
DVD. On Tour. 26 Minutes. Salta, capital of the province of the same name in the north west of Argentina, is the starting point of one of the most fascinating train journeys in the world. A sight worth visiting before boarding the train means a journey by cable car on the city's mountain, the Cerro San Bernardo and it takes ten minutes to reach the top of the mountain that towers above the city. At the General Belgrano Railway Station passengers board the Tren A Las Nubes for a unique train journey high into the clouds. The train has seating for more than five hundred passengers and all the carriages are modern and well furnished. On its long and demanding journey across the remoteness of the Argentine mountains, the 'cloud train' passes through a total of twenty one tunnels. But it is not only the technical facts that are impressive, it is also the untouched natural landscape that is truly captivating, with fascinating forests of cactus that indicate the arid nature of the region. Today the line has become a real attraction but for some passengers the thin air of these high regions occasionally causes problems. Some begin to feel light-headed. To cover such contingencies the train. contains a first aid facility. The deep abysses that frequently appears alongside the track can also unnerve some passengers while for others they just add to the excitement. We eventually reach an altitude more than four thousand metres above sea level, the highest point of the journey and, after a short stop, the return journey begins. The Tren A Las Nubes: an Andeean adventure well worth having!
